Arawen's Top 5 Dm Choices
If more than one name appears under a number this means that they acted as a Dungeon Master Team. That is the only way a Dungeon Master should be listed more than once on a list.

Ghool

Comments: Ghool tailored the adventure to two players characters beautifully, racheting up the tension by adding betrayal, dreams, and divine intervention that may have intended to manipulate the players--or may have been true portents, while leaving both PCs involved profoundly conflicted and transformed, and the rest of the group truly confounded. I felt it was a brilliantly diabolical roleplaying twist, a surprise beyond anything we imagined. I loved the module design as well: the Tomb of Horrors is a beautifully atmospheric, devilishly tricky and well-balanced module. Throughout the game, Ghool's DMing made a sense of menace become even more alive and personal. While playing I could almost feel the gloating presence of the archlich. Thank you Ghool for an extraordinary evening in what has been a wonderful campaign! |

Carlo One

Comments: Desperate Measures was the best and most intense NWN roleplaying experience I have ever experienced. Carlo One set up a unique scenario in which PCs dealt with love, despair, hope, moral dilemmas, PC relationships, and a high level of game challenge that accorded perfectly with the story. A brilliant one shot game, with vivid, wonderfully played NPCs, great customization around the PCs bios, and high drama. |

Zarsynn the Gray
|
| |
Comments: In Chapter One of Lands of Eirth, playing with Zarsynn felt like an epic novel unfolding, where imaginative play is treasured and players too create the story. For these reasons, I rank him among the top DMs with whom I have played, both in NWN and pen and paper D&D. For several months, Zarsynn created an amazing role-playing experience that immersed the players in his intriguing and orginal campaign world. In Chapter One, the Land of Eirth's NPCs were memorable and complex. His versatile encounters and puzzles continually surprised even as they moved along the story. Above all though, Zarsynn's multiple plots and PC-related subplots were outstanding. His story always felt open ended. |

Comments: This was one of the best one shot games I have ever played. The DMs created NPC interactions that fostered a sense of a vibrant and living world, full of all too human NPCs, high drama and humor. At every point--from the opening tavern scene onward through exploration and the well-designed combats--it was so interesting that I did not want it to end.
The DMs were impressive as NPCs and very smooth throughout, with fine pacing for a very full night. The mod was technically strong as well, with good design, as well as excellent use of haks and custom music to set the mood.
For a maiden voyage of a new campaign mod and a new group a players, it was an amazing evening. Thank you! |

Aldarin Fox

Dha'Kron
|

Comments: I enjoyed the surprising turn of events in this game, as DMs Dha'Kron and Aldarin Fox involved the party with the morally ambiguous practices of slavery and rebellion in Crimsonspire. The party's discovery that the rebel elves had allied with a necromancer in defiance of their own ideals added a suspenseful plot twist. The open-ended roleplay and think outside the engine aspects were superb. The combat was challenging and well-paced as well, with a good variety of tactical situations. As usual, a terrific campaign game from these two talented DMs. |
